Posteriorly Migrated Lumbar Disc Mimicking a Tumor
Oh Hyeong-Seok

Choi Won-Chul
Abstract
We report the case of a patient with posterioly migrated lumbar disc mimicking a tumor treated with total removal. Magnetic resonance imaging studies showed a left posterolateral well-enhanced mass at the L4-5 level. Radiologic diagnosis was hemangioma. Definitive diagnosis of posterior migration of a sequestered disc fragment is possible only after observing the disc material following partial laminectomy during surgery. The pathologic diagnosis was degenerative fibrocartilage consistent with intervertebral disc herniation.
